West midtown, Manhattan houses more than 165,000 people in about 2.25 square miles. These photos were taken before the pandemic, and at that time over a million commuters would enter Manhattan to work, a great portion of them via west midtown.
Pennsylvania Station which was considered to be the busiest transportation hub in the western hemisphere, as well as the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the largest in the Unites States and the busiest in the world. Amtrak trains, Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit, a dozen MTA subway lines, and seven bus routes all converge in west midtown.
These photos were all taken in west midtown in the years 2007 through 2012.
